Youth Ministry is the response of the Christian Community to the needs of young people fostering their development as Catholic Christians and drawing them into responsible participation in the life, mission and ministry of the Church.
For children in Grades 4-8, offers activities that this age group can participate in. Here are some of these: Sports night, Games night, Movie nights, Masses with the youth, Youth Choir, Altar serving, Ushering, and more.
A YOUTH COMMISSION is the instrument of visioning and planning for effective outreach and ministry to, with, by and for young people and their families. A youth commission discerns, prioritizes and plans a prash’ response to the needs of youth and their families. A group of 10-12 adults and senior high school students works together to identify and prioritize needs, determine ministry responses, promote and plan a youth ministry calendar, recruit, support and celebrate volunteer youth ministries and evaluate programming.
VOLUNTEERS FOR YOUTH MINISTRY
We have some amazing volunteers for our Children’s Liturgy Program, but we love fresh faces!
Volunteers will be needed for our Confirmation program as well as all other activities that we have.
Our Church loves seeing youth lending a helping hand, so if you’re interested in sewing, busing tables, setting up, taking down, or crafts, contact me!
VOLUNTEERS are the glue that keeps these activities going.
The more volunteers we have the more we can offer to enrich the lives of our young people, our own lives and the better quality we can give. You are a very important component to the success of any youth ministry.
OUTREACH ACTIVITIES are for different groups.
Women’s Community House is for youth from grade 5 and up.
Glendale Nursing Home Visits is for youth from grade 7 through high school.
St. Vincent de Paul is for high school youth who help with sorting, hamper preparation, writing Christmas cards for the recipients of these hampers.
